The week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday is known in Greece as “Big Week”. This is a time of preparation and traditions that are set in stone in a way that is both reassuring and heart warming.
Each evening the Greek churches ring out with the beautiful sound of bells and families gather together for these special evening services.
In every home people will be dying their eggs red and baking the delicious Easter bread known as Tsoureki. Why not have a go at making it – there are many recipes on-line and we would love to see photos of your finished bread.
Greece is beautiful at this time of year and if you are lucky enough to be here for Easter we hope you enjoy this most special of times as much as we do.
